Im a bit desperate here. I want to get into a grad program and I need letters of rec. I dont really have anyone to write me any. I am not really asking you to lie, I could send you writing samples and you could see my writing firsthand........????

Wouldn't you be better off getting a letter from someone who knows you in an education/work capacity, Writergal?

Maybe you need to find out what they are looking for, but I would have thought commitment and knowledge of how it might improve your work would be important and noone here can write such a letter if they don't know anything about your track record.

What about teachers/tutors or employers? Even a workshop leader? Perhaps you could combine something like that with crits from the site or something. Because crits is something you can get from writewords fairly easily.

Perhaps you need to find out more clearly what kind of letter they are looking for. Is it just a straightforward reference or more detailed about your writing?

I'm always writing fake references for my terminally unemployable friends, but I don't think I could do it for someone I've never met.
