There is often chat on the site about editorial services with members exchanging comments about the various ones they have tried...Cornerstones, Hilary Johnson etc etc.
Would it be possible to set up a section in the directory where they could be listed and comments could be posted by members (via Richard?) on their experiences, in the same way that agencies and publishers are listed?
I'm sure that many members would find this useful.

I think that's a really good idea.

It's a good idea, because although such info would be ideally in resources or somewhere, it could well be in one place, so we'll take it on board. Thanks for the suggestion.

Casey,
As it happens, the facility already exists! If you go to the Directory and click on Resources there's a list of such things including 'editing', 'advice' and a whole host of others. It's possible to add comments to any of the entries.
It's entirely likely that we have missed some of the editing agencies etc - if so please let me know and we'll add them.

Hi Richard,
ah yes, i see. I looked for Cornerstones, for example, wasn't under editing, found it in 'writing help'...i still think it would be better to have a heading for 'editorial agencies' listing the biggies, ie Cornerstones, Hilary Johnson, the Literary Consultancy, and the others mentioned on this site, you might get more comments that way.
However, i am aware that this request is partly due to laziness on my part, and perhaps other members are happy to sift through the resources section.
cheers,
Casey

Aha! I didn't know the info was there either. There are so many now, I think I'd agree that it might be worth thinking about giving them their own section.

What I have done is put the three mentioned agencies under both 'writing help' and 'editing' so anyone clicking on either will get the lot. I think this may be the best solution so that it doesn't really matter what people opt for.
If you come across any more entries that could do with this double-entry treatment please let me know.
Richard.

Thanks, Richard, (although i can't see Hilary Johnson under 'writing help' or 'editing'?)

Well spotted! The crucial keyword was missing. Must be going cross-eyed. Should be ok now.
Many thanks.
Richard.
