We are constantly updating the Directory and the current focus is on UK poetry magazines. Because many of them are run by individuals or very small organisations it is not always easy to obtain up-to-the-minute information (many do not have web sites).

This up-dating exercise is backed by a technical improvement to the Directory. Hitherto there was a limit to the number of words in the 'useful information' section. We have now removed this restriction.

We see the new arrangements as a service to magazines (especially those without websites) as well as to our subscribers.

So, we are appealing to WW subscribers (and/or magazine proprietors) to forward any useful information which they are willing to share about poetry magazines. We are looking for some or all of the following:

    Title of magazine
    Postal Address
    Telephone
    Fax
    e-mail
    Web site
    Contact person(s)
    When founded
    Size of magazine
    Frequency of publication
    Price
    Method of distribution
    Type of poetry published
    Selection criteria
    Details of any payments/rewards
    Acceptable methods of submission
Maximum acceptable submissions at one time
Approximate response time to new submissions

Please send the information either via this forum thread or by WW e-mail to me.

    Thanks in anticipation

    Richard.

A very useful site, where you can read back copies of many different poetry magazines online, is
    http://www.poetrymagazines.org.uk/
Other magazines I've had success with are
Obsessed with Pipework ("off-beat" poems - have a look at their back copies on the site just mentioned) and Raw Edge (Midlands based, a good starting point for submissions. http://www.poetrysociety.org.uk/landmark/display.php?id=876 )

    Leila,

Very many thanks for the information. We've added Avocado and poetrymagazines and have updated the other two entries.

    Much appreciated!

    John,

Many thanks - just the ticket (as people used to say).

The info will be in the Directory almost at once.

    Richard.
