Just posting here further to the vigourous debate over in the lounge about critiqueing.
I'd like to moot the idea that posted work should be labelled for level-of-finish as a matter of course, i.e. anything from 'this is a first draft bashed off quick I'd appreciate 1st impressions' to 'I've worked at length on this and beilieve it to be at a high state of completion, I'd appreciate deep and incisive comments before I submit it to an agent'
Maybe we could agree on four or five remarks/levels to convey this sort of thing.
Wondered what amount of support this might have.

It's a good idea. There's always the summary box to put it in, as an alternative to a separate section. I suspect what people want is more variable than could be accommodated with four or five levels.

I'd support some convention on 'level of finish' when work is posted. That way I wouldn't have to waste time pointing out punctuation and grammatical errors on work that was just intended to float some ideas. The problem with relying on the comments box is that people won't use it so often, so a menu might be better, if there was some agreement on levels of finish.
