On the directory listing for this agent it says there's an interview with her. I've searched the site, but I can't find it. Is it floating around somewhere?

Harry,
I don't recall an interview with Lorella but there was a forum posting a while back. I know her pretty well because she used to work for my previous agent before setting up on her own a few years back. She's done very well for herself by all accounts and is a very decent person too.

Thanks, Terry.
Yes, it's strange that it says there is one on her directory listing. Maybe it was cancelled.
I'm interested because I may well submit to her in the near future. She seems very keen on first novels, especially ones with multicultural elements. Your comments about her are very encouraging too.
Cheers

I submitted to her when my manuscript should really have stayed at home with me being edited. Her rejection was not long put pointed to what she didn't like. Hope this helps.S

You got feedback Shika? From what I understand that is extremely rare.
Good on you.

We were expecting an interview- ie. it was promised- but never happened, so we'll amend the directory listing. I might chase her again..

What a nice thing to say Harry. I actually cringe when I think of that rejection because it was so long ago - almost two years - and my manuscript is very different now. But you are right - it's amazing that she gave me any feedback at all. I chose Lorella Belli because at the time she had just left a larger agency and I thought she would be the best sort of agent for me. I also managed to speak to her. I asked the multi-culti/African writing question. She was very keen to receive anything in that vein so I would go for it if I were you. All the best. S

Hi Anna, thanks for your reply. Sorry for responding so late, I've been away for a few days.
Yes, please chase it up. I'd love to know what she has to say.
Shika,
All sounds good. I'm not quite ready to send out yet, but have started thinking about which agents to have a crack at first.
Cheers
Harry
