Reading fiction on other sites, I've noticed they often have non-white, mid-tone backgrounds, which is easier on the eye than white...
I wonder what people feel about this and whether we should have a darker BG for our work here at WW?

I read easier on a white page, myself, but maybe I'm the only one.

I'd rather have a white page - the more contrast the better.

I don't read from the screen whatever, I have to print things out.

Definitely white. Anything else is a chore to read!

Yes, white's the go. However, if something is longer than half a page I always print it out.
I can't imagine reading a whole book (ebook) on a backlit screen.

how about a black background with flashing lime/yellow text.

I'm getting a headache just thinking about it!

When I'm writing, I always use a blue background, often with a light orange text. It sounds weird, but it’s very gentle on the eyes.
