That's a shame. Presumably when you say it wasn't being used you mean it didn't get enough hits, as I and others were posting there and I certainly got some traffic to my website from WriteWords
-
Interesting - our stats showed about 5 pageviews a day for the blog section, which I presumed was mainly only the handful of people posting there.
-
David Thanks my pages seem all the same size but this is the third time I have tried to let you know so this may not go either I guess. Your Test thread is blank too. MC

brief forum bug again after changing the posting buttons! Sorry!
-
Well, I didn't say I got a lot of hits, David!!!

It's OK you are still doing better than me! My sheep declined to be vaccinated as they were too far under down over, dry and out of the wind unlike the shed and I! It is great for my mindfulness though as no matter what the weather and the sheep throw at me I am not trying to fix soft wear! Keep going. MC

(hopefully the forum bug is fix'd now so this message will post alright)
Just wanted to say, re: blogs - I don't have a WW blog, but I did browse the blogs from time to time. I would never have found Emma Darwin's blog without it (which I'm very glad I did). I was looking forward to exploring the other blogs some more, especially if it became possible to favourite them or something of the sort, and see when my favourites had been updated. Sorry to see them go.
-
HI guys - this is fine for me now. Much clearer.
-
Could WW list members blogs then that are else where?
-
I'll see if we can work out a solution to include blogs somehow, perhaps at least on a member profile page
-
I know it must be the most hideous juggle to do the kind of changes you're doing, David, but I do get quite a few hits on every new post on my blog from posting it on WW too, which are gratefully received. So glad you're finding mine useful, Calliaphone!
And yes, I've discovered other blogs, and got a wider sense of what other members who blog get up to, via the WW Blogs page.
This might not be remotely possible, but if members' blogs showed on their own profile page, then might there be a panel on the main Members' page with the latest four or five, so you could click through to that profile, and pursue the blogpost itself if you wanted to? Or something like that?
-
BTW, as we're on the topic of updating the site, please can we modify the forum selector drop down to in some way reflect active, current groups and forums?
Currently, about half of those listed have been dead for a number of years, where top, active groups are omitted.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before - I can't see that it has-but there seems to be a problem with the word count display. I posted to commercial short story a couple of days ago. I was alarmed to see I was 200 words over the limit for the competition it was meant for. When I checked on Word it was OK. The group host said there's been some glitches, and it's still showing the wrong count.

blogs - have updated so that a short extract of 'personal blogs' appear on profile pages, as well as lower down on the members page, so it's there if anyone wants it.
Also publications now appear on profile pages.
Gaius - hoping to remodel the forum home page some more altogether soon, thanks for reminder.
Cornelia - I think this happens when you paste from word etc and it includes all the hidden junk that word includes behind the scenes. I will look into solving this.
Thanks for all the feedback!

Hi all
Can I ask something about the re-design? I like the overall look but everything is really BIG on the screen now and if I adjust the view, surely it will mean minimising the view on ALL my web pages? I don't want that, obviously..
But well done David and everyone involved on the nice, clean look of it...
