If you pay to join a site I think it should give you full access to group topics just as you have access to the Private Members and Lounge forums. If members want to chat privately then they can use the PM facility.
-
It would be helpful if the work listed in the Groups homepage also included the date it was uploaded.

good idea, Naomi.

done! just working on the group home page look at the moment
-
Will the Search facility ever work? I don' think it's ever worked in all the years I've been a member.
-
I had another small crack at it, but it's very difficult because there is so much data.
-
When is the 100+ word limit on comments in flash poetry going to be removed? Waiting patiently as still unable to post.
-
sorry I thought we had - please try again now, it should let you through.
-
You just try a group out. If you don't like it you have the option to leave. It's not as if that costs any more! You don't have to marry the group host or anything ;)
-
Maybe "marry the group host" could be added as an option, for an additional fee? That can't be too hard to code, can it David?
-
Yes, those red letters have gone. Thanks. Now, a question. Why is the paste sign dim and when I click on to it, it won't paste? Is it me? It was fine before.

It's a shame there's no longer a list of Group topics on the Forum page. I used to like looking down it each morning to see if any interesting topics had been posted without having to trawl through the Groups pages. (And without it, I wonder if it makes it more difficult for new members to navigate the Site).
I know there's now the list on the Home page of activity on the forums, but that's over a relatively short time scale and it's rapidly overwhelmed by individual members doing multiple postings, and listings of all these 'likes' and things that one can do now.

I've posted a piece of flash fiction in Flash Fiction 1 Group. My computer word-counted it as 594 which was within the 600 word limit stipulated for the challenge. Now that it's up I see the site counts it in excess of 650 words. Can anyone explain this? I know that WW sometimes counts elipses (ellipses) as words but there's only a handful in the piece and can't possible explain the anomaly.
I see someone else has posted a work on this site which is in excess of the word limit too, though not by the margin that mine is.
Any ideas?

I'm having problems with pasting in my link for a new piece of new work. I had three attempts to post this in flash poetry... Then gave up. Is this a temporary glitch?
Also I am getting notifications of postings but when I click the link it doesn't always go to updated page. I have to refresh the page to see the new posting. Has anyone else experienced these two problems? Are they solvable David?
just a thought. If we need a minimum word count on critiques, would it be possible to have a word count gizmo at the bottom of the page?

Yes, I tried to post a link but the hyperlink button on the 'posting box' doesn't seem to be there.
