Hey,
I've just joined write words and would love to get involved with some of the groups.
I've joined Young Adults being a young adult myself, only to realise (Dufus!) that the title was referring to the target audience rather than authors' age...
Ideally I'd like to join a more appropriate group for my style, but the beginners, fiction, novel & humour groups are all full.
Can make a suggestion to whoever deals with this sort of thing? What if every time a group fills up you start a new group of that name?
That way I think you'd find more scope for letting people in to your community and increase the impact it's having.
There may be some reasons why you keep it small at the moment, but I suspect there could be more keanos like me around and wanting to join a group?

It's true, the groups are nearly all full now. It's all right for me, I'm in all the groups I wanted to be in. But I hope someone has noticed this for future members.
We need more groups, please!
Thank you.

Not being a member of a group doesn't stop you posting to it, or asking for help on work. I don't think you can upload work into the group, but that doesn't really matter. The only advantage of being in a group is that you get an automated post of when work is uploaded by a group member, and you can keep work viewable to group members only, but because members often visit other groups to look and comment on work, it isn't really worth doing that, but I would advise you to keep any work viewable "to Writeword members only"
The best thing to do to get things rolling is to upload something and post a message in the "Introduce your work" forum. That way, you'll get people from all kinds of groups looking at your work. Activity within the groups tends to be sluggish compared to the forums.

Sarah - we do try to monitor the groups regularly and if any remain consistenly full and in demand we open new ones (hence poetry 2 3 and 4, novel I and 2 groups and so on).
We do sometimes fall behind though in clearing out members who don't contribute (3 months is the theoretical limit for inactivity) so if you see a group that you'd like to join and some members who aren't contributing do please follow the link at the top of the group page to let us know!
There are now spaces in many of the groups.
