Hooray! Good news.

Good - no matter how often I check I always miss something, and we writers don't like to look ignorant of grammar and basic spelling.

I have a correspondent whose letters are always a refreshment to me, there is such a breezy unfettered originality about his orthography. He always spells Kow with a large K. I don't mind the spelling being a tad phonetic when I'm posting quickly, with the words forming in my ear and pouring out through my fingers while my inner editor's gone for coffee.

But I love being able to straighten out a sentence which thanks to a careless bit of cutting and pasting would have made more sense than the original version, but doesn't because of the mess I've made.

I have noticed that when you edit within the 1hr window, any smileys (smilies?) in the original post get deconstructed ...

I have drawn David's attention to this!
