In a discussion in PM it was suggested that we have a Writers' Problems topic, and I would like a Research topic, all in the Topic Forums category alongside Technique etc.

What do you reckon, David/Anna? Others?

The idea of doing this is to encourage more posting in the public forums when the subject is not private, rather than posting in Private Members because none of the categories fit.

I've had problems trying to fit the thread to the topics. What about a 'General/none of the above' too?

Not a bad idea, because otherwise people tend to use PM as a General, I think.

Yes, I suggested a 'general' when I renewed my membership recently. I try to post in the public forums whenever possible, but sometimes there just isn't a good 'fit' in the current selection.
