It seems a bit quieter upon my return to Writeword after three years. I'm not just on about my work, but looking at comments for other peoples work, posts and forum threads, its doesnt seem as bustling as it once was.
-
It is a lot quieter - not sure why, I think other forms of social media contribute, some of us now chat in writing groups set up on Facebook, for example.
-
Wish I realized that before I spent £20 on new membership
-
There's still plenty of chat in the PM and Lounge, I reckon. Probably is a bit quieter than it used to be though...
-
Yes, the lounges are usually busy, Bar Steward - as for the groups, it just depends, but several are full of action.
-
Yes, a lot of the best craic and technical conversation goes on the private forums.
Having said that, there are some excellent threads out here ATM - Ping-Pong Dialogue, and Voice, for example.
-
The lounge is no-writing topics isn't it?
<Added>
I was keen to come back on WW because we aim to make quite a few short films, so I thought the site would be ideal for getting some feedback before we go to shoot
-
Private Members is all writing topics...
-
K, I'll give it a try, see if I can find any screenplay writers
-
I hope you find the support you need. I'm sure you will. I find the £20 a year very well worth it - there are some extremely helpful and experienced writers here.
-
I know, and I got lots of help and advice before, which is why I was keen and happy to return, it just seemed much busier then. Like you say, the likes of Facebook and Twitter has exploded since I was last on
-
Bar Stward,
Can I just say - and don't take this the wrong way - but I've read about your "we aim to make a few short films"on several threads, including places where it doesn't really belong like "commercial fiction" over the last two or three days. I'm not sure if there's a film-writing forum, but I suggest is there is you just post it once on there, the appropriate site, and that if you are inviting comment you first comment on other writers' writing. That's how the writing forums have always worked.
-
I posted it originally in one place and was suggested to move it to another, which I did and when it got there, I was asked to move it elsewhere, so I did, hence why its hopped around a little. I've then put a thread in lounge as it was suggested it gets more traffic than groups nowadays
-
And I was an avid reviewer in the past but I only rejoined yesterday and have not gotten the chance just yet. I'm not being snappy, hope it doesnt come across like that, Im just explaining in reply.
-
It's been especially quiet the last week or two. No idea why.
