  • Star buttons for new threads?
by aruna at 19:15 on 03 June 2005
I think it would be a good idea if on the "forums" page, where all the forums are listed, there would be some way of highlighting forums that have new threads, or old threads that have new messages, so that we don't have to click on each one seperately to see if there's anything new. Perhaps little yellow star in a forum box with new messages.

AT the moment the only we we can tell if there are new messages is if we've alreday posted on a particular thread and get a notification.

Or perhaps, the titles of new threads could be posted on the
forums start page, instead of the hot topics that are there now, so that we could go straight to them.

An example of what I mean is the US writers forum Absolute Write.

    Just an idea.

OOPS! I just discovered you apready have something like this - I just found the link "recent posts"!

I don't know how and why I never saw this before.

Instead of "hot topics", I meant "highlighted posts"

The ones that have been commented on most recently also rise to the top of the list.

    skippoo,

yes, I realise that now. I think it would be a go do idea to have the link to that page, Recent Posts , on EVERY page of the forum, so that we could go there immediately from whichever page we're on,and not have to click all the way back, and made more conspicuous; I only discovered it now, after several weeks on the forum!
