Hi David,
Is it possible to select to make groups "invisible" to non-members as per the members lounge and private members forum?

This is important for "intensive critique" where we want to get the value of the feedback without exposing WIP to the world at large.

Giaus, you should have the option of selecting 'visible to group members only' as with all the current WW writing groups.

Thanks guys, I'm looking into this as a priority

In the groups, I would like to see a description of exactly what each group is about. Sometimes it is not all that clear by the name.
That way you don't join a group and drop out later because it was not what you expected or don't join and miss something that was what you were looking for.

I absolutely agree, and ideally it should be editable by the group host.
That would also allow groups like IC to link to threads on guidelines about how we parricipate, sort of like stickies but without cluttering the forum.

Ps: think this might need to have a "teaser" for groups page plus that links to full description on the group homepage itself.

I've added a description now where it exists. Not currently editable. I also replied on the other thread about the group members issue.

Please can you keep editability to the wish list, though? (IC doesn't appear to have a description, but could use one. ) An interim solution might be to simply include a link to a thread that the group host can specify / alter? That would allow you to leverage existing code but still provide the descriptive functionality.

Oh, I'm a little disappointed that the Recent Posts facility nolonger lists recent posts in the topic sections of the Writing Groups. Was that deliberate? It's just that I find it easier to look at a list of thread headings - to see if there's anytng interesting to click on - than to go down the Groups list and see which ones have been active recently.

I agree with Naomi. If this is permanent I think it will be a great loss - people will inevitably miss out on joining in on threads that might have been of interest to them. Here's hoping it's just a glitch!

sorry guys, that was supposed to be ensuring that non members couldn't see the group forum posts, but I guess I overdid it. It's now also visible (to members) on the forums home page as well so the old 'recent' page should become irrelevant.
