But let’s not impose our preferences on each other. We all have different agendas but the purpose of this collection is to publish our work. Let’s concentrate on that. We are writers, not fund-raisers.

I love Derek's artwork; the thing that strikes me though is the people who are attracted to buy something with it on the cover are not likely to be the kind of people who are offended by plentiful swearing.

Although on the subject of swearing, and going off on a slight tangent here, I read something recently that made me think twice about using fuck, which is a word I've always thoroughly enjoyed sprinking my speech with. Apologies to those who already know this, but apparently it used to be said, in the long ago, that rapists had Forced Unlawful Carnal Knowledge; hence rapists had branded on their foreheads, so all would know what they had done, F.U.C.K.

I've felt a little uncomfortable using it since. But I daresay I'll get over it. Can't help a snicker though when I see anyone wandering around with t-shirts branded FCUK.
