I’m still wavering about the cover. The flasher is funny but, as most people don’t know the term flash-fiction, I think potential readers will draw the wrong conclusions.

I have a mock-up for a cover but I don’t know how to upload it onto the site. If anyone can help, I’ll post it. Alternatively, if everyone else is happy with the flasher, I’ll go along with the majority.

As for Stephen Clarke doing the foreword – we should snap up the chance.

It doesn't look like this will be out for Christmas, but maybe early Jan. If we go with the flasher cover then, as I said before, I'll need contact with the chosen printer for guidelines/sizes/whatever at least a couple of weeks in advance of me completing the art. Then I expect most printers or POD publishers will be busy...so since we haven't decided on a printer or the art yet, we'd be lucky to see it done this year.

That said, I think it's better to have it right than to rush. Once the money is spent and the book is bound then there's no tuning back (unless a printer will allow us to run off a few with one cover, and then change it for the next run without a big charge?)

I'm quite happy with my pieces now, but I want to put "Birdy" in, and since that would take me past 6, I need to drop one of the others...If anyone can suggest which one should go, then please don't hold back. I can't decide which is weakest.

Can I assume, from the complete lack of interest, that no-one wants to see my idea for a cover?

I don’t mind, if everyone else is happy with the flasher. But, if that’s the case – why have we ground to a halt?

Dee, it has gone a bit quiet hasn't it... I think shay has been very busy, and I've not had much freetime either.

I think the cover debate could run for ever, and we will have to decide in the end or we'll end up with a plain coloured cover with text only...but I think it's only right that we are all happy (ish).

Let's keep in mind that whilst we can have ideas, we can't necessarily get the art done at an affordable price. I offered to do the flasher in the style of my concept idea, because that's the kind of art I can do...Another idea might have to be paid for...and I bet we would have FAR less say in the finished result.

I'd like to see your idea too, Dee...perhaps David Bruce can help you upload it?

That's pretty cool, Dee. It's a great picture, and even though I'm a big fan of the flasher I'd happily go with something like this if it's going to be more acceptable to the rest of the group.
