I have to say I’m delighted that David Bruce has offered to promote the book on site and publish an interview. That will be a boost for us.

Will we be able to sell it through Amazon? For instance, they don’t stock Nell’s book but I bought it from her via Amazon in the same way I would buy a used book through them. Except, if fourteen of us were all trying to flog the same book…

How exactly are we going to sell these? Do we all get a boxful? I’m sure I can flog a few at work and at the local writer’s circle but what then? The only independent bookshop in town is about to close down.

What if some of us run out of copies and others have 200 in the spare room?

BTW - All this talk of my art got me thinkin... if anyone else is looking for a cover design (not free sorry ..but discounted ), then gimmee a shout.

I'm happy we ae sticking with the Flasher concept. Hooray.

Dee brings up a very good point that needs to be discussed. Amazon is definitely a MUST. I can promote the book in the DC area and probably get independant bookstores to carry it. i was even considering talking to BArnes & Nobles in the area, although I'm pretty persuasive, I don't know if there policies would let it happen.

I'll pretend it was intended as a pun rather than a mistake.

how dya do that yellow box thing?

Yellow box? You mean the quote box? Mine’s blue!

You put the word ‘quote’ in [square] brackets, paste or type in the line then finish with ‘/quote’ in square brackets – but without the ‘ ’ .

A while ago I mentioned that a camel is a horse created by committee. I think we're in danger of creating a camel here.

We seem to have come full circle with the cover design only with an added element of the lightning flash.

As writers I doubt if many of you would be happy with a double pun in the same sentence and I'm afraid this latest development is the same thing. It's a double visual pun on the word flash. Not good.

Let's stick to out knitting. We need to decide whether to go for 1) Flasher 2) Lightning 3) Another idea entirely

Whilst I respect the reservations voiced about flasher I do feel it will have a bit of cut-through on the shelves.
Lightning flash is a nice idea but I don't think it will have the same level of impact unless we can find a truly remarkable shot, and that I'm afraid will cost money.

Someone talked about trying to capture the variety of the stories and subject matter on the cover which made me think about a collection of very short, shorts, i.e Bermudas, khaki shorts, rugger shorts, footie shorts, French knicks etc.
I can probably get this shot.

    But only if there's consensus.

    Best
    Sion

Lightning flash - no, no, no...

So some might be offended - what's new? People are offended by everything nowadays so just go ahead, write some wicked stories and offend the bastards...

    I can't believe we've gone 12 days without a comment on our record-breaking thread!

How is everyone feeling about their pieces?

Are we back to the original flasher for the cover?

Are we happy with Stephen thingy doing the foreword?

What are your views now that Christmas is looming about deadlines and timescales?
