    Hi Andrea,

I wasn't being personal, honest, and if I caused any personal offence, then you have my unreserved apology. It's just that I thought, and still think, that Derek's design was an ideal attention grabber that I doubt could be bettered, and that the vast majority of potential readers would find it humorous rather than offensive. But hey, as I said, I shouldn't be here, so my opinion isn't relevant. Sorry I stuck my nose in, but before I go, can I wish all of you guys all thr luck i the world? You deserve it.

    Roger.

    Roger,

Hard to know how not to take offence at being called a "sad sod", but unreserved apology, alright I'll go with that. Even if you were right that the "vast majority" would find it "humorous" rather than distasteful or offensive, that still leaves a minority I doubt any professional publishing house would so casually alienate when handling a bunch of unknowns.

    Take care
    Andrea

Just popped on to say I'm going to go very quiet on WW for a while, as I've alot going on. But before I go, just to say - I've expressed concerns about the Flasher thing, but that's all they are. Go with it. Ani has my personal e-mail if anyone needs to contact me, and Shay, I'll have my stories with you by the end of the month.

    Take care

Hey flashers! Just a quick note to say I still don't feel the decision on the cover art is sorted. I just want to let everyone know that I won't start the finished art until I'm sure we're gonna keep it.

If we are going to discuss it via email instead of this forum, that's fine, but please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Derek.

Derek, that's a very good question.

I think we need to determine how we'll carry on our discussions.

Do we really need to go off site if we restrict ourselves to the forum, and preferably this one thread?

I ask because, although I am compiling a list of emails, I don't think everyone is equally comfortable with going onto email with the project.

Also, I think that we can really benefit from opinions and advice from WWers who are not contributing to the collection.

So how should we proceed here?

My opinion...use this thread. It's going to be easier than Emails. But if that's a problem, I don't mind the emails.

I suggest we decide the communication method here on this thread and then go from there.

BTW - I had a very VERY quick mess with some other ideas. The last one is from a photo...which might be too low res anyway, I'm not sure. And, as usual, the wording is just any old nonesense as a placeholder.

Derek, I don't seem to be able to open that as a web folder. I think we should stay on here for now, but I appreciate the efforts Ani has made.

I also think we should stick with 'a' flasher.

Anyone who objects, please post here by Wednesday. We will go with the majority.
So as long as there are no more than six against (Anj is already counted as one), Derek can crack on.

I've just looked at the three covers and am sorry to say I don't like any of them. The two new ones seem to be too removed from the theme and looking at the original again, I have to say I'm with Anj on that one. Sorry again.

Oh hell. I think I’m with Elspeth here. This is worse than choosing the stories.

I definitely don’t like the middle one – it gives me the creeps. And I can’t work out what the third one is.

While the original was funny, he is an incredibly ugly bugger and, I think, will give the wrong impression.

    Sorry, Derek!

Hi all, to make this easier I'll remove the new ideas...they were only a quick mess about, intended to possibly spark other ideas... but nevermind...

As Shay says, just let me know if it's a yes or no on the flasher.

Thanks for the honest opinion Elspeth.

    Derek.

And Dee... (must have been typing at the same time as me).

I'm glad I didn't spend all last week putting the finished art together! ;).

    Hello all,

Before I start, this isn't me chucking my toys out of the pram .

If this was a case of some people love the art and some people aren't keen on the art...then I'd be happy to leave it to the vote.

But since a few people have very strong feelings against the actual concept, I don't think I should go any further with it. If it's OK with you, I'll just stick to the stories.

    Cheers,

    Derek.

Once again, this isn't a tantrum...I just think it's the right, and fairest, decision.

    Hi Derek and all,

Why don't we go back to my initial idea of a group flasher photo? Those that can't get together can be replaced by body doubles. It will serve two purposes to have 14 closed macs on the cover. Plus an actual photy might make an even better impression on the stands.
