If you would like to see any of your short fiction pieces (ideally less than 500 words, but possibly up to 1,000 words) published, this could be the perfect opportunity.
I floated the idea of a self-published flash volume some weeks ago and got lots of encouraging responses. It would be fantastic if we could make this happen, but logistically it presents several problems.
I would urge anyone seriously interested to visit the flash fiction group for the full thread and let me know their thoughts.
Think of the opportunities this could present.
I want to confirm a list of contributors and their pieces (6 max per WW member) by 30th September.
Kind regards,
Shay

Hi Shay,
I'd like to contribute three pieces, all of which I would like to submit to rigorous polishing first....

Hi Shay,
I seem to have a couple of things round 600+ words and some shorter things.
Count me in!

OK, how about this for starters...
We all identify whichever pieces we are offering and then everyone else reads and comments on them. Be ruthless, right down to nitpicking level.
Then we'll all feel confident that our contributions are as professional as we can make them.

Good idea, Dee.

Hi Dee,
Right. So we all put are lists up in a couple of weeks and is it open season? Or should we pair up? For instance, eg and Ani, Dee and Shay. Then crit / edit each others.
I think it would be a lot of reading to go over everyones. Also I think the important part is proof reading for typos. Plus I like the idea of pairing up with you Dee. Eh? Eh?
-
I think that sounds like a good idea, however we go about our crits.
Time to chisel and polish!
Do we want to do this on the main archive list???

Shay... what can I say... anything you suggest... just so long as you don't want me to have your babies... or vice versa...

Dee,
We can form, mould and shape great literary babies me and you (I'm talking about our flash collaboration, of course).
Ani, I think as long as we put the list of titles in the forum then those assigned to crit / edit can go to that users profile.
Having given it a little further thought I think it would work better in trios. Writer A gets crit from B and C, B from A and C, C from A and B. So who's up for a threesome with me and Dee!

At this point, we might want to do a foursome, at least until we have more takers.
I'm happy critting with Elspeth, if that's okay with her.

I'd be a bit concerned if we'd dwindled down to just four. I mean I love all three of you dearly, but there was 15 or 16 who voiced serious interest. Still, it's early days with this post.

Crikey! Didn't know I had that much competition!

Yes, I remember, there are quite a few. We need to keep bobbing this post up to the top so that everyone gets a chance to see it!

Come on, guys! You know who you are. The ones who were so keen on this in July? Let's see if we can make this happen.
WHO ELSE IS IN?

Don’t panic Shay,
They’ve probably all gone to an airport departure lounge for their holiday.
