Could we have an option to preview comments we post on uploaded work? So many times we see comments screwed up with wonky italics or – as has happened today – quote boxes.

It’s frustrating that we can’t amend our comments but the option to preview would give us the opportunity to at least check them before posting.

I have often felt the same way, that it would be helpful to preview. Or be able to go back and edit what we previously wrote as opposed to just adding on text. I say this as a frequent perp of wonky quote boxes, italics, bold face, in addition to plain bad typing.

I agree. I think, especially if you write a long piece on someone's work it's much better if you can preview it - sometimes the text box is so small I find it hard to see what I've put and end up posting silly errors.

Maybe we should start a petition and brow beat david until he gives in!

Yes thanks I noticed it after I'd posted the note. Have you been able to use it? I keep having problems.

I've had 'page unavailable' a few times, but luckily was able to use the back button to recover the comment. Sometimes it disappears if that happens - annoying if you haven't copied beforehand.

I still compose any comment longer than one or two lines on a Word doc and then copy into the comment box… partly because my connection is a bit iffy, but mainly because I don’t trust my spelling! And it saves having to capitalise and what-have-you.

But the preview is great to check if I have my italics or quote box screwed up. It really narks me if I go to the trouble of typing in the brackets and then find, when I post it, that three-quarters of the comment is in italics.
