I have to admit to being confused by the forums I seem to recall when they were first change dthe way it was designed wa sthat we had certain topics as a fornt page and then all the forums to which somebody had poste drecently accessable by clicking on the link at the top.

I now find it most confusing and seem to spend hours looking for forums I am notified of an additional posting and then assuming that it thus means that forum will now be atthe top of recent posts go there and cant find the forum.

Am I the only person that suffers this or do others of you find it equally frustrating ?

I too have noticed that the posts that appear in the main forum page no longer appear in the recent activity lists. I'm sure that anything that was selected to be in the main forum page used to be in the recent posts page as well. I too find this change a bit of a strange one.

The recent posts page used to be very useful, in order to immediately see where the action was. Now the two pages seem unbalanced, and it is no longer clear where a recently updated thread will be listed. Is this change deliberate?

I totally agree the whole system needs a good rethink and a bit of member consultation before it gets changed.

The problem seems to be that one can't go back past the first page on the Highlighted Posts, and can only go a short way back on the Recent Posts. I've just spent ten minutes looking for Hamburger Yogi's thread on seminal books, and can't find it, even by looking on his profile. Just have to try again I suppose.

It is possible to go right back on Recent Posts, but I still can't find it. It was only posted a week ago - I think. Where the heck is it?

I finally found it in the Lounge. The last posting in this thread was on 6th August, yet it doesn't appear on Recent Posts.

I think it would also be useful if we had against each forum a most recent activity indicator i.e saying when the last post was this seems to be a common feature on most sites.

Guys. There's a bug I think which means each highlighted post disappears from the recent list- it's on today's todo list - will post back if I make any progress.

OK That was easy. Solved already!

Speaking of forums, I know there were various opinions about what appears on recent posts and the forums page and now, everything is 'public' or potentially so. I would prefer lounge stuff to stay in the lounge, as it's advertised as a place to relax and chat, so when I post in the lounge, I don't really want the world et sa femme to be reading it (I know, they can anyway, in theory) BUT, this is just a thought while we're on the subject and not a moan or life-changing situation!!
