We've had a request for a new group for writing for radio. How many members might be interested in such a group?

If we could get constructive help with scripts, plays etc.
I for one would find this very helpful.

You already have an underused Film & TV writers group which attracts scripts. You could adapt it for radio.

Naomi, don't you think radio writing is quite different, because everything has to be done by ear?

I might be interested one day, but not atm. It sounds like a good idea to have such a group.

I would say it is similar because it's all about writing scripts, which is an art form in itself.
Also you need a critical mass to get a new group off the ground, otherwise it ends up being just one more underused group on the list where there aren't enough people around to get a decent number of critiques.

I am the newbie who has requested in radio forum. I've come to the Writewords community to find people who are developing their writing skills for radio drama and I'm hoping for lots of good peer reviewing and support.

I'm really excited and encouraged that there are enough of us out there to form a new group. (Hello there, Antartic!)

I agree with Deb that radio drama is so completely different from TV and Film and would prefer to keep it exclusively for radio. But Naomi has prompted a question. How many active writers do we need to make it a credible group? This amount seems fine to me ... no?

I think about 4 who are genuinely active is enough to be worthwhile - each of you gets 3 crits. But ideally you would want more in the group in case some got distracted at any one time.
