I keep wondering if I should delete my older archive work, and am in two minds, as i rarely if ever get any comments on it.
my questions are
1 what do the rest of you do about archive work
2 does anybody read anything other than the latest two or three posts
3 If we delete work does it benefit the system and/ or are there any disbenefits?

Hi David,
I like to leave all my work uploaded as this is a good way to keep a backup handy. I know if my hard drive, or whatever, fails on my PC then I will have a copy on WW. I do take a backup of my hard drive sometimes, but never as often as I should. You can even set your work so that only you can see it.
I don't expect many people, if anyone, to comment on my older stuff. There is just so much new stuff being posted every day. Having said that I still like to keep it all there.

David - there's no benefit to the system in removing work. The main disadvantage is that any comments are lost along with the work. These can often be as valuable to other members as the work itself, so if there's no reason not to, then it's probably for the best if you leave them on!
Sam - WW is not a backup! We offer no guarantees as to the safety of work stored on our server, so don't rely on it!

Hi David,
I wouldn't rely on it. Not because I don't trust it, but because as you say, there is absolutely no guarantees that the work will be stored. All I was trying to infer was that having a second copy of your work on WW was a perhaps a good reason to keep your it uploaded. It might just come in handy if you had a PC related disaster. Perhaps I should not have used the word backup..

Hello everyone,
I'm still on holiday but luckily there are internet connections here, because my computer crashed big time the day before i left and then a couple of hours later we realised the telephone line wasn't working. I don't know yet if i've lost everything, so it's quite a releif to know that some of my stuff is sitting pretty in the ww archives. Happy hols everyone and i'll be back on line when i can...
