Sorry for the loss of service for much of today - there was no problem with our server, but the nameserver at the registrar 123-reg went down - and is still down - I switched over to our hosts nameservers and all seems well. Sorry if that is gobbledegook to some of you, but essentially it means 'we had a problem and now it's all fine' !

I am pleased all is well, I have had local problems that appeared exactly the same so I didn't if it was you or me.

123-reg is one of the UKs biggest name registras so I'm surprised they've been down for so long with no explanation or even support contacts I could find over the weekend. Lesson learned- won't be using them again!

I wonder if they are suffering one of those 'denial of service' attacks that just makes it impossible to do anything or if they have they just gone belly up?
