I suppose this is a call to David but also a question to everyone else.

I’m on broadband so, once I’ve logged on to the site, I tend to stay on for hours, dipping in and out whenever I feel like it.

I’m often slightly irritated that I often find I’ve been logged out. Sometimes I get a message telling me I’m trying to access something visible to members only, other times I’m told I need to be a member to contribute. Yesterday I was told that my trial membership had expired!!!

Does anyone else have this problem? What is the time limit before this kicks in?

Yep. It happens to me all the time, usually after about fifteen/twenty minutes, while reading work on the site. I am logged out constantly these days it’s very annoying.

I’m glad I’m not the only one!

It is so frustrating to be logged out in the time it takes to read something and compose a comment.

Wonder if David is reading this...

That used to happen to me such a lot, but then I set up my 'logged in' page on WW as the homepage on one of my browsers (somehow!) and now I'm constantly logged in. This may not be the answer for everyone as I have two browsers/homepages, AOL and Safari (the Mac one) So I set one on WW and the other is as normal. (er...does this make any sense?!)
But it might be something you could try?....

Dee, David is away, so may not see this thread- it's always best to email him if you have a specific query at admin@writewords.org.uk and I'm sure he can let you know if it's anything WW related.

    Thanks Anna,

I used the forum to see if anyone else had the same problem - if it's normal there would be no point in bothering David. It's not a major issue (although I was slightly freaked out when I got the message saying my trial mambership had expired!)but I'll send him an email.

    Thanks again,

    Dee.
