This has probably been up many times, so stop me if you've heard this before...

The points for uploading work. Do you loose them when you take the work back down?

I've uploaded loads over the years, but I don't like to keep too much on, because I think it's confusing when people have forty or fifty items and you don't know what they want comments and what they don't, so once a piece has been up for a while, I take it back down. Do the points come off?

No.

It seems odd. My breakdown is like this:

8 points for 1 piece of work uploaded.
1896 points for 474 comments on another members' work.
3107 points for forum comments, group blog comments, and other general site use.
TOTAL : 5011 points

It all adds up.

But if I take a look at someone else I can see someone who has 54 pieces of work uploaded, but has the points for 83 pieces.

Odd or what?

Interesting Colin. So wanted to ask 'Do points mean prizes?' but had resisted thus far.
Doh.

I can't explain the discrepency, however I did just go into my archive and delete a piece of work to double check, and there has been no change in my points.

I could be wrong but I think if someone else deletes a piece of their work that you’ve commented on, you lose those points.

As I say, could be wrong though.

I noticed this a while back. I think what happens is, when you take a piece of work down, it is deducted from your "uploads" points and added to your "general" points.

See, this is why I get nothing done, because I spend so much time wondering about everything else
