What's happened to you, WriteWords? You used to be cool, but you've got real tight with the part membership... 'specially taking into account that you upped the price o' membership. I submitted a piece, but noticed a mistake, but couldn't edit it, so I deleted it... but now can't submit it again... I know I'm a fraud for not paying for full membership just yet, but hey, I'm an A.S. student with no money, and you're real mean. I'll be back! As a member!...oh. well.
Or rather, I will when I can persuade my rather frighteningly paranoid mother that you aren't all con-artists:
Me: Membership to the community is twenty pounds.
Mum: Well... they just want your money! How do you know they're writers?
Me: 'Cos there're about a gazillion members. And they... write stuff.
Mum: How do you know they wrote it...they could have copied it from somewhere!
Me: (at a loss)
Mum: They just want to copy your stories and use them themselves. And they want
your money. I sent a poem off when I was younger. And d'you know what? The
book was never published. It was a con. And it was on the news. It'll be the
Russians. They want our words. Never did trust them.
She's like a character out of Dubliners.
Anyone got any rock-solid arguments as to why this place is sound?
