I was just wondering, when up upload your work to this site is it available to members only? Do you upload here for constructive criticism and then use your work elsewhere?

When you upload work you have the choice of making it visible to everyone (including internet search engines), WW members only, group members only, or only yourself. Just tick the most appropriate box.

Posting on here is not considered as publishing, because you're asking for feedback on a WIP.

- I know this is true if you make your work visible only to WW members , or groups (or to yourself), but isn't it a bit of a grey area if it's visible to everyone, on the internet? Personally, I'd limit its visibility to WW members or groups to be on the safe side.

Poppy makes a good point. If your work is visible to the general public ie the internet, even though it isn't published it technically is and this can effect what rights you can sell to a pub. - if at all.

I'm not sure what all the technical names are for places around the website, but I just meant it's best to join a group and upload the work into that group, than to load it as a 'topic' on any group (as new members are wont to do), as you won't be able to edit it and will have to ask David Bruce if you want it deleted. Also, on some groups, it will be visible to all WW members.
Likewise, if you upload it into the Forums (such as Introduce Your Work forum), it will be visible to everyone inside and out of WW.
