• Getting all mushy on WW...
by Davy Skyflyer at 14:01 on 30 April 2007
Hey Write Words

Okay sorry to do this again, I just posted this in the lounge but thought I should do it in public, if you get my meaning.

So I had a bit of a thing (as in an argument not a steamy passionate love affair, thank gawd, as I don’t go for trolls) going with a certain person before I left to concentrate on my novel for 2 weeks, and just wanna say:

Yes certain people are Right Weirdos and actually get off on trying to create bad vibes and turn people off WW. We just call them trolls, but I expect you know who I mean. I mean the sort of person I’m talkin’ about is the kind of person that wants to maybe get people onto their utterly extortionate writer’s site, which obviously looks worse compared to WW, because this site will give you all kinds of amazing help for just THIRTY QUID a year. That is nothing. It’s a great site and I hope David B doesn’t really hate me for posting this up

The thing is I obviously offended some people when this happened, before I left. I should probably keep my mouth shut.

But the other thing is, if I do fall out with people, it’s not to wind them up on purpose, or to try and bring down the reputation of WW. I understand I’ll have to keep my opinions to myself a little bit more and whatever.

But anyway my point is just to reiterate what I said in the lounge.

I’ve been away editing and rewriting and finishing my novel, and as I said, I gathered together all the comments made by fellow WW members, and it ran to 90 pages of word.
That’s amazing and it was so helpful, and I just want people to know that’s what WW is about.

So Trolls should take note. Yeh there are members of WW who do come out and speak in the lounge sometimes fall out – God knows I’ve fallen out with my share – but people like, well I won’t mention names, but anyway, they should realise that’s what makes this site so amazing, and any amount of them and their lame attempts to stir up trouble just ain’t gonna work!!!

Okay so I bet that was a bad idea to post!!!

So thanks Sazzy J, Bege, Anj, Skip, Emily, Alexandra, Jane (John Wayne), Smudger, Jools K, Ava, Tea Monster, Tiger Bright, Xena, Optimist, Luisa, Jago, Strangefish, Inni, Dreamer, PoppyV, VGw, Corona. It was 99 pages actually, I just checked. So thanks you lot, and to everyone else who has commented in the past, such as Nik P, James W Bennett. And to those who helped but are no longer members for whatever reason, such as the gorgeous Adele T and probably not so gorgeous Jekyll and Hyde!!

Sorry I am a bit slack and now I’ve made some ground with my novel, I’ll dedicate myself to commenting on other’s stuff.

Okay sorry to get all mushy on ya.

I’ll be a moody bitch from now on I promise.

You may be one 'onery guy, but at least you're an honest 'onery guy, and I wouldn't like you to get banned from WW or anything, so welcome back, Davy

Thanks you guys.

A05 and Poppy, my fellow novel 1 groupies, your virtual voices were never far from my head in the editing, so thanks. Alexandra, I'm glad you liked the post

Yeh actually finished, tho still needs another editing in a couple of weeks, before I think about sending it out.

Have the next chapter ready, woz gonna put it up yesterday, but took a new laptop with me to use, and the thing had Vista or Visa or Pizza or whatever da hell it's called, and handily enough (NOT) I can't get it to convert on my ancient work PC which I need for internet access!! Doh! So I need top convert the file thingy back to old word on the laptop, then copy it across and then upload it. Should only take about seven hundred million years...

*sigh*

Thanks for all your encouragement tho, I appreciate it loads. I will have it up very soon, as the Vicar said to the nun

Anna - wow thanks! Niceish? I'll try my best

Thanks EmmaD. Yeh it was great to have all the time of the day to myself to write. It's defintely the way forward!!

Thanks you lot, very nice to read. Great to be back!

lotsa luv

Davy

Thanks Casey, that'z very nice of you to say.

Yeah I'm perfect for this business, coz I am such an aggro moody bitch! Shame the agents/publishers/cappucino merchants don't see it that way!!!

Yeh trying to catch up with Cambridge in lounge threads, but maybe you could just give me all the gossip now?

It felt like waiting for a blind date Davy, in Browns, tonic and ice in hand, trying to guess if people coming in the door were WWmembers.

Anyway, we all hooked up, had a bloody good lunch and a laugh and what else can i say - of course it goes without saying that we're all an extremely savvy, attractive lot

Could have done with a boa or two though!

do read my Getting Published thread though, Davy, you might find that interesting. and Jem's posted some thought-provoking reports.
