  • New members welcome.
by Dee at 17:42 on 11 March 2007
The One Month Novel group was set up as a temporary group for some of us to focus on some intensive writing and to meet specific goals.

Group members come from all sorts of different genres and styles. We don’t post any work, other than a mini-synopsis – and then only if we want to – so there’s no need to read and comment, or to be familiar with the various types of writing. The focus is on supporting each other while we all concentrate on our own work. It’s been extremely successful and productive, and some of us want to carry on.

There are now a few vacant places in the group, and we’d welcome new members. There’s no need to be in from the start. No need to be wanting to finish a whole novel – just have a goal and the desire to reach it within a deadline. The only other commitment is to cheer on, or commiserate with, the rest of the group.

    Tempted? Join up now!

Well, I think I might join up, as I am on a mission to re-draft my novel in one month, which is just as well, cos that's when my free trial of Word for Vista will expire. So that's my personal deadline. When I have nothing left to write on, I can stop writing.

I have just applied to join this, after seeing your comments, Dee. I've just embarked on a mentoring scheme where I'm being mentored as I finish my first novel, and I need to write intensively for the next few months. I think the group as you've described it will suit me really well, and help me.
