I think I have to go with Peep Show.
Also, there was a series called Free Agents that piloted last year, which I loved. I really hope they have another series soon.

I haven't watched Free Agents, but I've discovered you can still get it online on Channel4

I must have missed Peep Show
The first series of Gavin and Stacey
Claire in the Community has recently been on BBC Radio 4 - a new series, RJH. You can probably get it on I-player. I loved it too.

Don't watch it if you're easily offended or a Daily Mail reader, though!
-
Cath, I'm easily offended by The Daily Mail, lol!
-
I agree with RJH, I found Blackadder to be far too chuffed with itself.
But then again I hate virtually everything that comes from the pen of Richard Curtis.
-
Thanks, Jem, for the headsup about Clare in the Community. I enjoyed the previous series too.
I also liked The Good Life, Yes Minister, Porridge and Fawlty Towers, although I didn't enjoy Fawlty Towers at the time but on re-viewing.
-
I liked Yes MInister too. I cringed at The Good Life on subsequent viewing - I think it is the perfect little wife Barbara that made me grit my teeth. Still no one who watched and adored Early Doors?
-
Jem, it's true about Barbara. I didn't notice at the time because that was so normal (although I've always hated it).

... watch it. (Where's the emoticon for devil's horns?)

I'd have to go along with Porridge. The twists were very clever, as was Ronnie Barker's characterisation of Fletcher.

There is a whole generation of men who fell in love with Felicity Kendall in that role. My husband among them. I could have slapped her. She was everything "girls" were meant to be and she looked cute in overalls.
-
Fawlty Towers really does stand the test of time - though because there were so few it was easier to keep up the quality I suspect than those than ran...
Yes, Minister was another classic.
In recent years I've really rated Green Wing, The Royle Family, The Office and Gavin and Stacey. And I like Outnumbered.
When sit coms are done well they are golden - but Lord help when they've been done badly.
Are you going to write one, Russ?

I also liked the one about the writing group in Scotland with the anxty american, the heroin addict and the WAG. What was that called?

And what about the one set in a flat where the guy never left, and he shared his apartment with Samantha Janus? What was that called? I liked that one.

I liked Felicity Kendal in Solo, a sitcom written by Carl Lane, who also did Liver Birds, Butterflies and Bread.
The early series of Bread was good.
