Had the best night last with Mark Kermode at the Arts Picture House. He was meant to be there promoting his book and in fact he did sign copies afterwards, but the hour he was in front of the audience he didn't read it from it once, because he said he was a crap reader. He just told lots of funny tales about things that had happened to him and told us how to alter our specs so we didn't have to watch 3D - Mark Kermode hates 3D as you might know, and his reasons for demonstrating why it's so crap had us rolling in the aisles.
After the break he introduced "Pan's Labyrinth" which, after The Omen is his favourite film. (Mary Poppins being his favourite children's film.) I'd seen the film once and loved it, but this second time I got so much more from it.
A fabulous night. Has anyone else been because he seems to have been everywhere in the UK by now?
Mind you, everybody knows I have a huge crush on Kermode.
