I know Poppy is watching but I guess many more will have caught the first of this one-a-nighter for a week, last night on BBC1 at 9? Briliant cast, scarey theme. Best line - Police Inspector walks into an interview room, where sits the accused, her lawyer and someone else - social worker? psychiatrist? forensics bod?
"Well, this is nice," she says, taking a seat. "Four women in one room in a police station."
-
I agree brilliant cast Jem. Some superb acting though I thought it was a tad repetitive in parts. Once we got that the lovely Matthew is in fact oppressive it didn't need hammering home for about ten consecutive scenes.
-
Oh. I liked that slow build up. I also liked the house. Not to live in but as a perfect piece of casting.
-
I thought it was very good but is hard to watch these things with my husband, who is in the biz, because of the spluttering at inaccuracies! That ludricrous cartoon clerk was the worst bit, but amazing acting.

Oh, Caroline, I get like that when they do school dramas. It must be hard! My husband and I went to see a lovely (I thought) film at the film festival recently called "Welcome" about The Jungle at Calais (when it existed!) and the migrant workers trying to get to France from Iraq and other places hiding in lorries. The MC learns to swim because he cannot bear the thought of putting a plastic bag over his head when the Customs people check for carbon dioxide and sees it as his only way to get to Dover. My husband so pooh-poohed this bad science (he did explain how crap it was but it was like water off the proverbial to me) that he couldn't enjoy the rest of the film. Experts, who needs 'em?

Yes sometimes you need a suspension of disbelief...
We've actually given up on CJ...husband was finding it too grim and close to his working day! We watched Outnumbered instead [which is not exactly an escape because I wonder where they hid the cameras in my house sometimes!]
-
I am sticking with it. Afterwards I watched that new American drama "FLASH FORWARD". I love the central premiss and I noticed there were a couple of Brits on there. Haven't seen wotsis face since "This Life"!
-
But Caroline - you must have clerks like that no? All East End accents and Patrick Cox shoes.
HB x

Hmm..He's worked at two different chambers and never met anyone quite so OTT!

I rather think he is based on the clerks in Rumpole's chambers.
