by Flyingcomic at 11:48 on 23 July 2009
The famous Rose Theatre, Bankside (part of the Globe) is having an open weekend this weekend (25th & 26th July). It is 100 yards from the Globe and you can see the orgional stage used by Marlowe and Shakespeare and see how they used this site for the construction of the Globe. This really is a living piece of theatre history, there will be talks, films and lots to see and do and above all its free.

The site is 100 yards from the Globe on London's South Bank - don't confuse it with the other modern Rose theatre in Kingston

    see www.rosetheatre.org.uk

This is of course the places where the film 'Shakespeare in Love' is set

    open 11am - 3pm
