Ugh. Saw the trailer for the film. (loved the book). In the trailer, there's a saccharine, cheer-leady type voice over. Big Yuk. I didn't see/hear Clare like that at all. Maybe the film will be better than the trailer suggests. The actor playing Henry looks the part though.

Eric Bana is perfect - he can look old and young convincingly. I think - I know - I'll go and see it ...it's bound to be a real weepy!

I thought Clare would be more 'refined' and 'serious', but I suppose they have to go for mass market appeal.

Absolutely. In the (really puke inducing) trailer - the Henry actor looked just right, but Clare looked like a sickly sweet cheer leader, with 13 year old voice to match. Boo. I'll still probably watch it though as I loved the story.
