What fantastic stuff marble is for creating precise and lasting facial likeness - there are some great statues. Hadrian as a personality remains distant, and I think I missed the bits about building his border wall in Britain, but it's a big exhibition. Apparently there was no word for homosexual in Roman times, which my Latin teacher failed to mention, but Hadrian was besotted by a young man, who died young and whom he elevated to the status of a god. I think I'll go back and get an audio guide this time.
