Whilst I may or may not have any talent as a writer, I can procrastinate at a World Class level - I've avoided sharing any work for thirty-odd years! I have a few chapters of a novel that has lived with me for years and was wondering where to post a piece for feedback as I'm not confident about my editing skills(either!). I've had a look around on this site and it seems reassuringly friendly and helpful without descending into back-slapping or destructive sniping. I look forward to your comments and direction safe in the knowledge that in cyber-space no one can see you cringe!

The best place to get feedback on your work is to join one of the groups - as a part member you can join one group and upload a piece of work for feedback, as well as giving feedback on other members' writing. Have a look at the level of activity in the groups and pick one which is reasonably busy, and seems appropriate.

And if you get stuck, just stand in the forum and shout. Someone will be along.

ah, we know all about procrastination here! And also about self-doubt, so you're in good company. But there are also plenty of people here who know a lot about good writing too.

The best thing is to join the group most appropriate to your novel and post a chapter, then you can get critiques. You can set the level of comment so that you can ask people to be as gentle and encouraging or as blunt as you like.
