I'm Emma, 33 Northampton. New to the site and trying out teh trial membership. Thought I would have a look around and see what it's like. Any recommendations on where to start? How do you find the site? Is it worth paying for membership?

I enjoy this site and find it useful. In fact, looking back at my writing progress since I joined, the positive development in my writing is thanks to the guidance and support I have received from other members.

The groups are there for writers who want to help each other by giving reciprocal critiques and support. Depending on what you enjoy writing, you may wish to join a group.

Or you could discuss specific issues with other members in Private Members or Lounge.

Hi Emma, and welcome to WW. Sharley's advice is good - if you want feedback on your writing the best thing is to get involved with a group. Have a look and see which your writing seems to fit, and also which is lively and has lots going on.

I've been a member here for several years and paying for membership has worked for me. It depends what you need and want from a forum, of course. I would start with joining a group - a nice busy one - and posting up something for critique and commenting on other people's.
