  • hi, I`m new to this and getting a bit lost

Hi, just joined and thought I'd say hello as I'm not quite sure how this one month's free membership works. I've been on authonomy and youwriteon, and wondered if this is a different sort of site altogether. Could anyone explain? Much appreciated.

Hi Flicka, and welcome to WriteWords.

Site Host Naomi - NMott - is your woman for explaining the ins and outs of membership, and I'm sure she'll be along shortly. Meanwhile, do have a nose about the site.

Hi, Flicka, and welcome to WriteWords

As a Part Member you can join one group and upload one piece of work. I see you've joined the Childrens Group, but posted a question in the Flash Fiction group. Unfortunately, because you've joined a different group you won't be able to see replies posted on that thread unless you take out a subscription (Community Membership will give you access to all the writing groups, forums, plus the Lounge and Private Members forums).

If you would prefer to be in Flash fiction, rather than Childrens, you could email Admin (or WWmail David Bruce) and ask if it's possible to be swapped over.

Hi Flicka and welcome to WW!
Yes, it's different here to Authonomy and YouWriteOn. They are basically competitive sites where you crit and receive crits for ranking. This is a site for support, advice, encouragement and just communicating with fellow writers. You can also upload work for critique and people will respond purely in order to help you improve your writing.
Hope you enjoy it and find your way around.
