I came across this site yesterday and spent a bum-aching day going up down and sideways. I love it and felt at home straight away so I've joined on the free trials basis, but I'm about to plonk my money down and get in amongst it, if you'll have me.
I've been trying to write off and on all my life but never had the courage to try and get published; well, I did once, and I was knocked back straight away. I've had a general blog for a few months on blog.co.uk where I posted some of my stuff but I'm either no good or else I was in the wrong place as the response was lukewarm except for one fan. I'm leaving that to die when my subs run out.
I'm looking forward to posting stuff on here although I feel a bit daunted by how many published authors are waiting to pounce!

The published writers here only 'pounce' to help out and give good advice, I've found. I can very much relate to your being 'knocked back' and giving up - was the same for me when I started. I thought one knock-back meant the end. Here you'll see that it's all a long process of tenacity, faith and hard work. But quite a few make it. Fingers crossed!

All I basically said was, I'm fairly new myself, but have found people here to be without exception helpful and encouraging. I think there's an excellent mix of people on this site, from absolute beginners to published authors, which gives it something very special.

I definitely think it's worth the money, so hope you enjoy being here and decide to stick around
