I joined today on a free membership to test and see what the website is all about!
I'm currently working full time in the fashion buying industry but my passion since a young child has always been creative writing and reading.
I've had an idea for a book in my head for about 2 years now and decided to write it towards the end of last year, i'm up to the 10,00 words mark. Its a chick lit about a girl who is running from her past and moves to London.
I'm always searching for tips and ideas, because i am very new at it! and still unsure if i'm actually going along the right lines.
can anyone advise me how best to use the website and get the most out of it?

Hi, Jade, and welcome to WriteWords.

As a trail member oyu can join one group and upload one piece of work. You can find the list of Groups by clicking on the orangey 'Groups' tab top left of the page.
Alternatively you'll find them here:
http://www.writewords.org.uk/groups/
On each Group's homepage you'll see 'Click here to join this group'.
There'll be a few hours, or a day's 'pending period' while Admin add your name to the Group page.
To upload an extract, click on your 'My WriteWords' in the top right hand corner of the page, and you'll see 'Click here to upload new work', and follow the steps.
If you get stuck just give us a shout.

You will not have full access to the whole site, but have an explore and if you need any help in navigating it just ask.

Thanks for the replies! I've been having a look on the site and am finding it really interesting! some VERY talented writers on here!
I'm not sure if I will be brave enough to upload any of my work just yet, nobody had read any of it - not even my boyfriend, so i'd expect lots of criticism!
Hi Anne - I think i will most probably be doing the same as you as already becoming quite addicted to the site!
