Hello my name is Anne and I have not been writing for long really, only a couple of years. I have started a novel but as yet not got very far with it, as I felt I needed to learn more about writing techniques. It is based around my experiences of all those funny experiences I had on camping holidays with the family. I have written some short stories, but never had the courage to have them read other than by family members. I am looking forward to meeting like minded people, and getting ideas and advice on my writing.

    Welcome, Anne.

You might consider joining one of the groups, Women's Fiction is a friendly, active one, if you felt that suited your genre.

It's a huge step getting someone unfamiliar to read your work. I remember my first few uploads here at WW, about 5 years ago. It was a huge disappointment to discover my work had considerable faults It's the best way to learn though, and make online friends.

    Enjoy your time here.

Hi Anne, and welcome to WW.

Casey's advice is good - joining a group is the best way to get feedback on your work. And if you need advice, contact a Site Host, or just stand in the forum and shout for help!

Hi Anne and welcome to WriteWords

The Short Story group is pretty active if you fancy starting there. Or, for shorter fiction of several hundred words there's the Flash Fiction groups full of very keen writers. Alternatively there's help in the Beginners group, or one of the Genre groups like the Womans Fiction one that Casey mentioned.
Anyway, have a look around, and if you need any help just give us a shout.

    Hi Anne

I just joined a few days ago and have already had some great feedback on my writing. I've checked out lots of other sites but this one is by far the best in my opinion.

Good luck with your novel and keep at it.

Welcome to WW, Anne. It does sound as if your nvel might be Women's Fiction - and it's a really friendly group. It woud be lovely to see you there. (Not that I'm actually a member of the group - but I hand out there because of the chat!)

    Good luck with your writing!
