Hello All
Having just completed my second book I've decided it's about time I became a full member of WriteWords. I'm at the stage of trying to get published. My first book was a memoir, my second is a fantasy for young adults (or adults who are kids at heart). Trying to get a publisher for the memoir has been disheartening, but I know I must keep at it. The fantasy was great fun to write, but I'm not sure if it's any good! Hopefully I can get some help and feedback on both books, and of course offer my support to others. I have never had any formal training and simply write what feels right - or as I often say - whatever falls out of the end of the pen.
Having been buried in the writing of the second book for some months I'm now very much looking forward to communicating with like-minded souls.

Welcome to the full works. It's well worth it!

Hi Franci, great to see you've taken the plunge. You're welcome to upload an extract of the YA fantasy in the Childrens Group for feedback - the YA Group has gone a bit in quiet this year, so we're congregating in Childrens.

Thanks to you both!
I already feel so pleased that I've joined. Writing is a bit of a lonely business at times - when it's just 'me and my thoughts' and sometimes my thoughts and self-criticisms aren't very helpful. However I do feel positive today!

I'm new too.
Your book sounds great and when it takes off, I'm sure your memoir will too. Intrigued already.

Hi Riff Raff
I notice you've just joined too. Good luck with your writing in 2010. I'm sure the forums and groups here are going to be a huge help.

Hi Franci
Have you seen this competition? Thinking of your memoir.

Thanks for that Riff Raff!
My memoir is a full novel - so would have to maybe choose a part of it. It would be fun to give it a go. Are you entering something?

Well darn it! I got a story all ready to send and then read the terms and conditions of the competition. You have to be a resident of the U.K, and I live in France. POO is all I can say. Oh well, I'll get on with some editing instead.

How disappointing. Never mind it's always worth sharing info on competitions etc.
I might enter - will let you know if I do...
