  • WANTED: realistic and creative research for character (Please!)
by arralee at 12:18 on 16 November 2009
    Hi All!

Not only am I new to WW, I'm on a mission.

I have two main characters, one of which I wish to build from your help (hopefully)!

Living in Australia, I have the Australian Character penned out.
Not living in London, I don't have the British Character penned out.

I would love some fun, creative and (generally) realistic research for "Charlotte".

    "Charlotte" is 13.
Mother is black English – Where is she from? (Location and heritage)
Father is white English – Where is he from? (Location and heritage)
Middle Class. – Where does she live? What's it like there? Any details relevant?
Attends School. – Which School? What type of School? Who are her friends?

This is my basis. I'm hoping someone out there will know of someone like "Charlotte" or maybe someone WILL know a "Charlotte"! That would be exciting. Or anything I can piece together will be just helpful.

I'm hoping for positive and descriptive information and my ever appreciated thanks is given in advance.

    Thank you!

Hi arralee and welcome to Writewords.

Hopefully someone will be able to answer your questions, although if you get Eastenders and Coronation Street, or similar, on Australian TV, maybe you'll find the character you're looking for on there?
All the best with the writing,

    Thanks Naomi!

Unfortunately, I'm the books and DVD type – I don't own a TV as most of the programming here depresses me. As for cable – pffft – don't get me started!

Maybe I'll have to do a little youtubing. Any links would be appreciated!

    Thanks again.
