Hi All,

Just thought I'd pop a quick hello on here before exploring the site properly. I began to browse, but without some sort of formal introduction, I felt a bit like I was creeping around somebody elses house.

Obviously I'm new to the site, but also relatively new to writing (on a serious level at least). I'm working on a young persons' fictional story at the moment for pleasure and for practice. I'm actually from a Drama background and currently earn a living as a theatre manager.

I'm a bookaholic; my favourite genre is fantasy but this is not exclusive and I'm pretty broadly read in other areas as well. I love letting the words on a page pull me in to a world of magic and possibility, I hope to be able to acheive this in my own writing too.

Right, now you sort of know me, I'll go get settled in!

Hi Joolz, and welcome to WriteWords. As you say, have a good look round, and if in doubt get hold of the Site Hosts, or just stand in the middle of the forum and shout!

There are a good few Fantasy specialists around - and Drama types too (including me, at least as far as my first degree went).

I'm tentatively thinking about putting up the first chapter of my story on here but don't really know where to put it. I don't know if it is older children, young adult or fantasy. How do people decide?
