  • It`s a cold Wednesday in January...
by DeniseJane at 11:55 on 07 January 2009
...my hens are ice-skating on their waterbowl, the cats are hogging the radiator in my study and I've finally done what I've been meaning to do for a few weeks, no, come on, let's be honest, months, and joined WriteWords! Hello!! Last September, with my hubbie giving me a very firm push and a 'you can do it', I left teaching (English and Drama to teenagers - oh, the insanity of it all) and am now having the HAPPIEST time of my life being a 'Full-time Writer'! I've finished a children's action adventure novel 'Ginnungagaps' which has been rejected (in most cases kindly so I ain't giving up on it yet) 8 times so far and have nearly completed the second, shorter story of 'Nearly King Jimbo.' And now I'm going to concentrate on short stories for adults. Oh, and a novel I started ages ago and stumbled upon when I was having a desktop tidy(Frenzy of prolific writing = I am so desperate not to go back to teaching!)Happy New Writing Year to everyone!

Hi, Denise, and a very warm welcome to WriteWords

Yes, it is freezing, isn't it - I'm sitting here with frostbitten toes while the backdoor's open so the rabbit can go for a run. We spoil that bunny.

If you need any help navigating the site, just give us a shout.

Hi Denise and welcome to WW. And to the stay-at-home-writer's natural condition of frozenness. I can be almost as freezing in July, if I haven't moved from work for long enough!

    Hi Denise

Welcome - well done for finishing your first novel. Eight kindly rejections isn't too bad - keep on keeping on.
