  • New Year, New Beginnings etc...
by Pinju at 14:19 on 01 January 2009
    Hi There!

1st of January and my first money spent is on this site. So, hello...I've still yet to wade thru all the opportunities that this site offers, but safe to say that it feels like 'home' in a warm and fuzzy way!

Who am I? I'm a 30something interested in what I guess is just contemporary fiction (no dragons or elves, as I've just read elsewhere!) I've completed an Open University taster course and just about to start another soon but not with the OU. In the meanwhile, I thought I'd use this year to properly immerse myself with how the industry works (and how it can work for me) and who knows - maybe get to that point where doing something you love isn't just a pastime.

I have a few questions...but I'll find the right forum section for that first!

Hopefully it'll be nice to get to know you all over the year.

    Cheerio,

    Neill.

    Hi Neill

I joined WW a month ago and I have received loads of good advice.

Incidentally, I am doing a short course with the O.U. in February - Start Writing Fiction to get some practice!!

    All the Best

    Hi Beverley,

Yes, that's the one I completed. It's only a few months long which was enough to at least show me that I had 'something' to work with. (Strange order in which we all do things, isn't it?!)

    Good luck with the course!
