Does anyone else suffer from this (mini rant here): if you run a little bit of your plot by someone for advice on your plot working and they say: "yes" technically it can work, but it stretches the imagination somewhat chuckle-chuckle. These are the same people that love Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings etc! (mini rant over) and I am going to stick to my plot line thank you - no dragons, elves or magicians involved LOL

Lol, yes, boiled down to the basics some plots can sound a little far fetched, but the proof is always in the pudding/wriitng.

I think just about any plot can sound daft, when reduced to the bare bones. It's one of the reasons writing synopses is such hell - it makes you contemptuous of your own efforts!

As Naomi says, it's all in the way you tell 'em.
