Has anyone experienced peaceful secluded holiday courses, concentrating on arts crafts and writing.

After reading a comment in one of the topics I wondered if there are any good ones.

If so could anyone recommend a particular course or venue?

looks idyllic.

I have a problem I'm not that qualified it seems to cater for M.a. students or postgrad workshops.

I'm looking for starter courses on a full board basis.

Joe, if creative writing is what you're after and want a jump start, have a look at the Arvon Foundation, and Ty Newydd which is the Welsh equivalent, though they don't do other crafts:

And have you looked at the Short Courses at West Dean? I notice that the CW one says specifically that writers of all levels are welcomed:

You could also have a look at Missenden Abbey. Most of the year it's a conference centre, but it has very good weekend and summer schools, organised by the county council, I think:

I thought West Dean does (or did) Summer Courses for all commers.
A number of Universities do Summer Courses for those with a general interest in tyhe dubject, and with bed & board in student digs, which may be worth checking out.
