After testing out this site in 2004 (hence my user name) I've finally upgraded to full membership, so thought I'd say hello.

I'm called Judy and write short stories and non-fiction, plus have three and a half unpublished novels in the cupboard under the stairs. My short fiction has been published in women's mags, and I've had quite a few successes in writing comps. I write a regular column for The New Writer, although it's been less than regular lately, and have had various other acticles published.

Due to the day job and other non-writing aspects of life I've not been doing much writing of the creative kind for about a year or so and am badly in need of motivation and inspiration. Which is why I'm now here as a full member.

Hello Judy, welcome to the site! I hope you enjoy it here.

Judy - another welcome! - and an especially warm one if you upload anything in the journalism/travel/memoirs groups! The non-fiction part of WW flickers into life from time to time, then dies down. Don't know why - I would have thought that some at least would be interested in earning a bit of extra money by writing articles. As Directory editor I'm forever adding new magazines or up-grading old entries. The search facility makes it easy to locate journals which cover particular topics. Could be fun just to choose a theme and then face the challenge of getting something accepted - and then spending the fee on some great treat!
